Subject: ASE PERFORMANCE TUNING CHIP IP: Logged
Message: I read a reply to a question about this chip.
I have a '02 quad cab 4.7. auto 4x4
Has anybody had any experience with this chip.
Is the company reliable, honest to goodness business? never heard of this company before.
Also states that is does not void the factory warranty. truth or not. If i did get one, how could they tell?

Message: Unlike a custom flash in which your PCM is re-programmed, the ASE chip is an actual part inside the computer that they cut open and install. The dealer would definately know. As to its performance I have no idea. I just know that I paid $550 for the B&G Chrylser flash on my PCM and can tell absolutely no difference at all, it was a total waste of money. Use your money for gears.... 4.10's or 4.56's, you will see a dramatic increase in performance.

Message: Your best bet for a mildly modded engine is the Mopar Performance PCM. Otherwise, people like www.krcperformance.com can do custom flashes on top of the Mopar Performance PCM or a stock unit. These work well when you change things like the cam profile, heads, injectors, etc to optimize the fuel/spark and raise the rev limiter.

I do not have a chip from ASE, so I could not give you a first hand comment, but there are folks out there that are extremely pleased with the ASE performance.
You could also go with a Mike Leech flash, as many others in here have done as well.
When you ask these folks what their best mod has been to date, they mostly answer..."getting the flash/chip" They also move your rev-limiter and your top speed limiter.

Message: Can anyone tell me if the ASE can be used in conjunction with a custom flash. I have the B&G flash on my 2002 R/T and have seen no gains at all. Im considering the ASE cause there is a group by on this board for $275
