I've got a 97 Club Cab with 5.2 auto. I'm wondering if i bought a 4.7 if it would just bolt and plug in? Sick of 5.2 gas milage. I fso how much would one cost with miles under 50000?

What MPG are you getting? I used to own a V6 Dakota and it only got 14.

i may get 18 on the highway on a good day
my father has a 99 jeep grand cherokee with the 4.7 in it and he gets like 22 the onboard computer thing says
i might add that his 4.7 has all the power that my 5.2 has and then some

Well it has about all the power of a 5.2 or 318 but dosn't have the good solid reputation of the 5.2.
My 318 in my old 91' ram dosn't stall out in cold weather.

I'm gettting about 15 mpg in my 4x4 truck. My '00 modle truck 2x4 modle truck which was powered by a 287 V8 got avg about 17 MPG. Also I should mention it was a club cab.
I have looked into swapping transmissions. I wonder would a 45RFE auto would fit up to a 318? I dout it but it might work with some mod's. And suggestions?
