temp overnight got to around 5 below zero.
driving to work in the morning, 20 mile drive, all interstate- my truck would not shift into overdrive. It acted like it was locked out of overdrive when in fact it wasn't. I hit the overdrive button a few times still would not shift up. Truck has 87,000 miles on it tranny fluid changed at 80,000. could this problem be temperature related??? I have never had any problems before.

Most likely temp. related. I think that the pcm does not activate overdrive until the tranny temp reaches 50F.

Mine did that to this morning, after about 2 miles of city driving, and 4 miles of doing 80mpph she finally kicked into O/D. Next time, try and snap the throttle. Seems to work some times

LOL: Seems so easy for you.
My f-ing auto sometimes shifts into 2nd when I kick out the overdrive in its stuck in 3rd,!

well, not a very mechanical idea but - restart your pcm... my r/t wouldnt shift o/d, it would always bounce off rev limiter. i resetted my computer, all was well! worth a shot, no?
