Subject: 5 spd NOISE/shifter busted? IP: Logged
Message: ~1997 5.2L 5 spd Dakota Sport reg cab 65k miles- i got in my car today to go to pepboys and about 5 mins on the road i shifted into first from a red light and as i released the clutch it made an very loud noise past 25% release. (sounds like holding down the turn signal all the way down) i had to coast home and ride the clutch (oouch) i cant go more then a few mph. my question- is this the shifter linkage (it seems to shift fine) or the clutch (it feels strong) or something else? sorry for the long post oh yea everything is stock except intake and muffler.
