dont go with flowmaster, get a straight through
muffler. I got a Dynomax Ultra flow race
welded muffelr from Jegs.com (59.99) 6"
round and 21" long. It is LOUD LOUD LOUD!
and the acceleration difference, compared to
the flowmaster is amazing! I also added 3"
pipe catback, and man I will never buy another
flowmaster again. In fact, I donated my 40
series 2 chamber to my brother in law.

Yes but what sux about Dynomax is that they don't offer a single in dual out muffler and if your wanting to put dual tail pipes w/o making it a true dual exhaust you can't cuz all they have is single in single out mufflers. If you can find one let me know.

I've heard that single in/dual out creates a
loss in h/p compared to a single in/out, but I
may be wrong...

Gibson. But it's not really loud.

I don't like extra attention while speeding.

There is a group buy for the MBRP systems that ends the 23rd. They are nice and have different options that you can choose form. The prices are really good. We only need a couple more people to get to 10. Go to http://blackdakrt.com/mpegs.html and listen to some of the mpegs of the MBRP systems. If you go to http://home.ec.rr.com/blackdak/howto.htm#MBRP you can here one of the systems on a 4.7 engine. The companies web site is http://www.mbrp.com/MBRP%20B/index_B.html.

flowmaster is ghetto. Im suprised they dont sell them at wal-mart. Be different and get dynomax or spintech. I have a dynomax but will be changing over to spintech after the winter. Everyone and their grandma have a flowmaster 40 series.

Anybody out there tried Ravin mufflers?
They are available through Midas.
I put one on my 94 LT1 Z28
I believe the sound and performance is much better
than Flowmaster.
Nice deep rumble at idle, quiet when freeway cruising, screams once I punch the throttle.
anybody else have an opinion on Ravin products?

Flowmaster have been at the track longer and still are more popular by true hot rodders at the track so I don't know why people want to down talk them so much. Mine sounds bad ass. People here it and ask "what I've got".

Dynomax makes single in/dual out mufflers.

http://www.dynomax.com/documents/muffler_general_specs.pdf

My brother just put on a Ultra-Flo SS 2.5in/dual 2.5 out. (#17265) it was put on last night so I haven't been able to drive it much, but from the few minutes i did it sounds awesome at idle, when you start from a stop, and when reving the motor. It's not real loud at all when you your are doing 45 and then stop on it. THAT MIGHT get better soon as the fiberglass burns out.

I had heard that Gibson was real good due to the fact that they build only truck and SUV systems. Thats what I was thinking about getting. I just want more power and a little deeper growl, but I have to say I don't want it roaring, don't want the cops hearing me coming, haha.
