Subject: radiator fan always on? IP: Logged
Message: i have a 97 5.2L reg cab 5spd.
i was wondering if the raditor fan is always on? my fan is always on even if its parked and its freezing cold outside. a friend said that it shouldnt turn on until the car is driven a bit and needs some air cooling around the radiator.

Message: As far as I know it's a clutch fan and always runs. Atleast mine does.

Message: was wondering if they ever came on i, have a 2000 and have seen this on alot of different vehicles, but you have to make sure that is indeed running and not being spun by the air moving because of the belt driven one . youll have to take the serpintine belt of to make sure . start the engine if its still going ,youll have to replace the thermal temperature switch that controll's the relay that puts power to the fan
