 Subject: 2002 4.7 TB clarification

Hey all, I read a lot of posts about increasing the TB size. I think Dodge already increased the size for 2002 over the previous years. So my questions are: 1) am I right 2) is it worth the cost for an '02 4.7 3) what size is right for a z-tube intake and spintech catback w/ dual 2 1/2" pipes??

ya you are right, they did increase the size in the tb's from 00 to newer years. they are slightly bigger.

For 99' and 00' the throttle body opening at the butterfly is 65mm. For 01' and up, the opening at the butterfly is 68mm. It has not increased again since the jump in 01'. Both throttle bodies actually neck down before the butterfly and then open back up. I just recently had my 68mm ported to make it 68mm all the way through. I havn't put it on yet though to see if there is a noticable difference.

That's pretty much what I did to my own TB it was a 68mm. Now it's a ported 68mm TB. Dremel tool special.
