Message: I have a 95 (318)that I love. It has 86,000 on it and is a strong runner. My problem is lately it's hard to start when it sets awhile. Some guys say fuel pump, some say injectors, some ignition. HELP! Where is a good place to start? Thanks

Message: get your battery tested and starter tested at an autoparts store like autozone. its should be free to check them. If they check out fine. Then check your sparkplugs and wires, and distributor.if you dont know if the plugs or wires have ever been changed then i would replace them. if thats not it go too the dealer and have them do a fuel pressure check. that will tell you if your fuel pump is working properly.

Message: I would be looking at the fuel pressure regulator. Check the fuel pressure why running to see if it is within specs first. Second, and more importantly shut the vehicle off with the test gauge still attached and see if it holds steady and no more than 10 psi for 5 minutes. If the fuel pressure drops very quickly the regulator is bad. I believe the 95 FP regulator is serviced as the whole fuel pump module, so be ready to grab your ankles.

Message: Good advice in the two previous posts. Here's my cents.
Fuel pump relay ~$6.00
Fuel pump ~$300 mopar expensive but looks quality
Reset or unplug Computer Free
Check/Clean connector at free
When the key turned (ignition on/instrument lights), before the starter cranks the engine listen for the sound of the fuel pump relay under the hood and fuel pump at the tank. They should come on for 1/2-1 second simultaneously each time at ignition on before the engine cranks. After that if you were to press fuel pressure fitting on the rail gas should spray out at close 40 psi.
With any thing electric the connector can be dirty. The connector can be unplugged and plugged back in with out removing the tank, if your up to date with braille and houdini's fitness program. If you loosen but not disconnect the tank brackets you'll get more clearance and maybe a peek. Once unpluged you can test it with a test light or mm.
hope this helps Dave
