Subject: Cat Removal or Headers? IP: Logged
Message: Which would return better performance and sound combined, removing the cat and getting an o2 simulator, or getting a set of headers and keeping the stock cat. I've got an intake and a Flowmaster 40 series muffler on a '97 5.2L. Thanks for the help.

Message: If you want a louder sound take off the cat.after i did that i noticed my truck seems like it has a pwerband or something .i thought it did alot more performance than the headers .but i have both and i like them so i suppose either one would be better than stock

Message: Removing the cat will not gain much power. maybe be a little louder but not a whole lot. Mopar cats. (factory)are a high flow cat. Headers would be your best bet. Try the mopar headers. thats what I have on mine. I have a 98' 318 4X4. W/ 3.92 limited slip. Big difference
