Hey guys, my truck sounds like there is a little misfire, but there is no Check Engine Light. Will the dealership be able to diagnos it or does the Check engine light have to be on? Thanks.

yeah, the dealer can tell you if a misfire is there or not. what year is your dak? as long as it is a 96 or later they can tell you.

since your dak is a 96 or later, with the DRBIII hooked up, you can look at the "Which cylinder is mis-firing" section uner OBD Monitors and it will count every time a cylinder misses. i have to do this all the time at work. im a DC Tech myself. do you have a service contract on your truck through your dodge dealer? most of the time you will have to pay a 1 hour checkout fee for the daignosis of a problem. let me know what happens.

See I had the check engine light and I thought it was a bad spark plug. So I changed the plug and reset the PCM, and the Check Engine Light does not come on. I don't have a service contract, I guess I will have to pay the hourly fee. Since I reset the PCM will it still work? Thanks.

I just had that problem fixed with my 2000 R/T. They tld me a cylinder was mis-firing and the injectors were dirty. It cost me $505!

The dealer told me that I had a misfire code thrown because I was using platinum plugs, dont know if it is true or not
