Message: A 383 is a big block while a 408 is a stroked (360) small block. In this case, old school motor got put into a new truck. What are you running for carb, intake? I'm also curious what you are running for manifold/headers. Sounds like a nice project.

Message: Did you have to do any firewall cutting or mess w/ motor mounts and did you swap out the tranny, if so what kind? I know people have fit a Viper engine or a 426 Hemi under the hood of a Dakota but they had to do alot of work to get it to fit.

Message: i am using a holey carb with a high rise intake, thinking about stroking it before i put it in for good. yes i had to do a little bit of cutting on the firewall but i think it will be well worth it. Oh and does anyone know where i can get a set of ported, polished, and shaved heads for a 383. thinking bout upgrading the heads when i stroke it. where did you see a viper engine in a dakota? you would have to relocate almost everything to put that thing in. and finding a transmission to work under the dakota body---- whew im glad i don't have to worry bout finding parts for that lol.

Message: Don't know what your price range is but Edelbrock makes a great aluminum head for all b/rb engines. Very good flow numbers. From their website.
