Subject: short block???

I have finally decided to go with a shortblock from mopar to make my life easy. Well I was WRONG!! I have been fliping through my Jegs and see that they have a 360 MPI replacement short block(P5007549). This is what i want but, i thought that i read that our motors had hypereutectic pistons in them. The replacement block has cast. I want the hypereutectic pistons because I am planning to go from my sneaky pete to a big boy nitrous kit(NX 75-100 shot). Then i see what they term as "magnum" shortblocks(P4876906) and (P4876913). These blocks have the pistons i want and a more aggressive cam. But the deck height is different. 9.56 to 9.595. I also am planning on just having my current heads freshened up, 3 angle valve job moderate port work. But the stock heads I hear can not handle valve lifts above .500" so these blocks may be out. I also look at the long blocks 300 hp (P5249498) and 380 hp (P5249499). These look really appealing but are these "high swirl" heads the magnum heads? will my m-1 MPI bolt up to this? And why does the 380 hp version of this long block say "not for use with air conditioning"??

My truck can not be down for long, as it is my daily driver, so a short/long block appeals to me. But if i have to make to many compromises I will just rebuild my 318.

And last but not least: I have an auto 44re. because I am going from a 318 to a 360 ballancing issues come into play. After I get the different flex plate how do I get this shortblock ballanced??

Thanks,
Nathaniel
