I've got a 99 Dak with the 5.2 V8. Currently there are no mods to the engine (unless you consider Autolite 3923s a mod) and I have none planned. I would however like to add a K&N Gen II intake and a Gibson single side swept cat-back exhaust system. I only have money for one of them right now however. Which would work better as a stand alone mod until i get the other? Does it matter at all or should I just wait till I can get both? Thanks!

fipk is overpriced.if you are going to spend that much,
go with the exhaust.try a custom muffler shop,with a ravin,spintech or dynomax.i think the gibson is high also,(system)can get alot more for the money with a custom job,and get it exactly the way you want it.thats just my opinion.

If you want to pick some HP cheap just get the drop in K&N filter. You might want to remove the stock baffle. You would have to increase the need for more airflow to see any better improment then what the drop in filter will give. Save the money for exhaust,camshaft, or rocker arms.

IMHO, the exhaust will make the bigger difference.
