You can re-balance your flywheel or get a flywheel from a '93 to '02 Ram 2500 or 3500, 360 manual truck and use that. A '92 to '94 360 pcm will also work. Unlike later years, the '92 to '95 318 and 360 trucks also came with different fuel injectors so you'll want to upgrade those also.

Thanks for the help! I had not thought about rebalancing the flywheel. A new one was $495. I was wrong about the 360 being a '97, it's a '96, but the PCM that came with it still won't work because it's an OBII and my '95 is an OBI. Will a '94 or a '95 PCM be OBI and take care of my problem? Also, what fuel injectors would you recommend with an older PCM? Is '94 through '96 the same fuel injector? Thanks again for the help, it's really appreciated! Tom.

A '94 or '95 pcm will work and a '93 should also work. If you can get a set of stock '95 360 injectors, those will work. '93 or '94 will also work but the '95 injectors have a higher rating. If you want to go aftermarket then a set of Ford Motorsports 19'lb'ers will work.

Man, this thread keeps coming back to life. 3 1/2 years old now, lol. JJ, if you've got a 318 already then you don't need to do anything with your wiring harness to swap in a 360. As for a 318 computer, Mopar has discontinued most of the 318 and 360 performance computers at this point but there are a few available. Car-part is a good option to look for a used stock unit, or eBay.

Hi guys, you guys peaked my interest in swapping, but do you have to change any mounts it i put in a 360 or a 408? and are the headers and such the same? i was weighing whether to just rebuild a 308 or drop in a new 360/408 long block.

Kevin, the 318 motor mounts are a little different than the 360, and the 408 is a stroked 360 so the mounts will need to be changed as well,or the mounting brakets on the "K" member shouldn't be a big problem though.
Good Luck

Kevin,

I have already done a 318 to 360/408 block and there is absolutely no change in wiring or motor mounts needed. The intake and exhaust manifolds are the same. My experience is on a 99 Dakota 4wd automatic. Let us know what year and trans you have so we can give better advice. For tuning I would go with the SCT Tuner from KRC, Marty does have some good programs and provides good support after the sale.

This depends on wether the 318 and 360 are LA or magnum. The older LA has a different right hand mount for the 360, while the magnums are the same.
