Message: Anyone know how much the chrome DODGE badge off of a Ram would cost to order? Also, anyone know of any places that can do custom badges?

Message: Go to MoparChat.com and the Ram forum and ask if anyone has removed the RAM emblem from their truck and would be interested in selling it. That's what I did. I guy sold me his for $5 plus $2 shipping. Looks good on my 97 Dak... people think I have a 2003 model ;)

Message: I would strongly recommend just getting it from the dealer. I bought mine for $20 shipped. You probably don't want to buy it 'off' someone, since each letter is it's own piece,,and would make it a pain to line up,,plus you have to make it stick too.
If you order new,,it comes with clear plastic on both sides. You pull the plastic off the back,,line it up once - stick it on,,,and then pull the plastic off the front. That way they're all line up horizontally already.
I did it on my '01 Graphite Dak,,only badging she wears,,looks real clean.

Message: Yep. I ordered the 2003 RAM "DODGE" emblem for my '01 QC and it realy sets it off nicely. My local dealer had it for $26 and some change. The plastic on both sides was very helpful.
It's interesting how this little modification is so noticeable to other Dak owners on the road who haven't done this yet. They always point and give me a quick thumbs up!
You'll love it.

Message: I ended up ordering the chrome "DODGE" badge off of the Durango. I went to my dealer and looked at the dack of a Ram and a Durango for a little while and eventually devided I like the smaller lettering on the Durango better.
Also, for all of us 4.7 guys, and hopefully no one else has done this because I'm so proud of myself for coming up with this:
I ordered 2 "4x4", and 3 "3.7L" badges from a Jeep Liberty and a "V8" badge from a Jeep Grand Cherokee, all of which are the same size lettering and same font as the Dodge badge from the Durango, and all chrome. So, after a little swapping of letters and numbers, the tailgate of my truck will say:
DODGE______________4.7L V8
and the doors:
4.7L
(I might add the V8 badges to the doors later on, but the dealer wanted $49 CAD each! Besides, I think it'll look fine this way.)
I'll post some pics next week, they dealer said to expect them in by Tuesday.
This brings me to my next question, how do I safely remove the decals from the doors and tailgate?
Sorry for the book, just wanted to share...

Message: Sounds like a good plan....
as for the original decals there are lots of posts on this site regarding the different ways to take them off. Just search and you'll find them. The procedure that worked for me was some decal and adhesive sovent. If you follow the directions it should work fine. The bottle I bought did not say to wax after but I would suggest a good coat of wax and buffing. Worked for me.
I hope this helps.

Message: i also though of putting the badge off of the ram on my dak. i also thought of painting them black, or getting the black antodized (or however you spell it). haven't made a move on it yet, but i think i will.
