Subject: need header help fast IP: Logged
Message: I finaly get back from Kuwait and my headers are waiting for me. I am having a problem though. I can not get one of the exhaust manifold studs out. I am using the two nuts that came off of the studs to tighten the inner against the outer nut and the stud will not budge. The two nuts are coming off instead and they are very tight against each other. Is there any onther ideas to remove the studs? I am stationed in Italy so if something goes wrong it will be a huge hassle. The engine is cool and I am using WD-40 on the studs.

Message: Try soaking it down with a penetrating oil over night. Cover it up with saran wrap, so it doesn't evaporate as fast. Don't forget to tap the stud several times after appyling the penetrator to get it back in to the threads. If that doesn't work, try heating the block around the stud with a torch. Good Luck.
