Subject: Clunking noise from Cat IP: Logged
Message: I have this horrible clunking noise coming from my Catalitic converter at idle on my 1999 Dakota KC with a 5.2. It sounds like the internals are broken, it has 48,000 miles on it I have cat back duelies and a homebrew K&N intake, should I go after the factory warantee or go with a high flow?

Message: the cat it covered under the 8/80 emissions warranty. if you dont want it then go buy a high flow cat like you said. but the dealers cat is free.

Message: I have the exact same thing...not so sure it's clunking...is more of a really loud obnoxious rattle....I think I'm gonna go with the high flow if I can ever find one relatively cheap
