Message: My stock 01 4x4 4.7 just had a new Magnaflow muffler installed today, I flipped on how small it was, I don't want it LOUD just a warm rumble, well it was not as loud as I thought but still alot louder than stock, oh and we snipped the third Cat, sounds good at an idle or with steady pressure on gas but when I rap it, it sounds good until the RPM hit about 2000, then it pops and sounds lousy and its idle is dropped to 500 from 750, is it going to self adjust in the map over time or what? K&N help? its not running as smooth and I don't notice any power gain,,maybe a loss,,what is happening to my baby? HEEELLLPPP PLLLEEASSEE !!!!

I not sure about the 4.7L 2001, but if you have a O2 sensor in front of it, then your A/F mixture is way off.
BTW, a muffler upgrade will not give you any power gains you will feel. It might add 5hp at most on a stock setup. You'll need around 15-20hp at the crank to notice anything right off the bat.
