Ryan,

theres people here that $250 worth of HO intake and cams, on a stock motor, oh maybe an intake tube, and the 4.7's putting 229RWHP to the ground!

The 5.2 isn't even made anymore, the 5.9 will be next.

The 4.7's an awesome motor, definitely an upgraded, higher tech stock motor!

and after they do the cams, thats it. they are pretty much stuck at 230rwhp (NA ofcourse)

on the other hand, there are people with 318's and 360's with over 300 RWHP NA. you can just do more with them

by the way, you can change just the cam in a 5.2/5.9 and achieve that goal

torque... i see plenty of arguements coming form the hp side, but what about the torque? im not putting all you other daks down what so ever, but our advantage is torque!

whats different about the r/t?
lowered suspension package/ handling...
only being able to tow 200lbs as apposed to the other daks 6000lbs(?)...
the rims!
and plenty of torque!!

wait, did we also forget about the aftermakrket? im sure all the 4.7 and 5.2 owners would be happier if they had as much aftermarket as the 360....

blackdakRT, you DO know that a 360 is just a board and stroked 318 right? so there is a after market for the 318's just like the 360's

210 hp the rear wheels??!?! MAN.. I had 204 stock... The 290 feels SOOO much better now :) Drove for the first time in real 'rain' today to work.. YIKES! With the power on tap, you cannot, and I repeat, CANNOT go more than 1/4 throttle around town... Otherwise you are 2 seconds from going sideways, and or freaking out the guy next to you in the other lane...

At 55 mph in OD I nailed it on the fwy--- WUuuUWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAa and the tires were spinning... That's some power going down. I'd have to say the NX shot on top of that would be a complete joke. HHEHE

blackdakRT you don't get it, thats my original point, any part with the exception of the short block that fits the RT will fith the 5.2. You are the kind of person I'm talking about, but then again you probably don't know how to turn a wrench either.

kota on 20's...
when i wrote the part about aftermarket, i was thinking of the 4.7 vs, the r/t... i know many parts fit the 360 as well as the 318 (pretty much every bolton)... like i said i wasnt trying to flame against my own dakota brethren...
your write i dont know how to turn a wrench, im just as impaired as you are... (not really)

Actualy I love the RTs, if it wasn't for them there would not be the R&D for after market parts. I thank you guys for the input as it has helped all Dakota owners. Yes I would be the first to admit I would rather have the 5.9 as long as I could keep everything else the same. But then I converted my truck from the auto to the five speed which I could have done just as easy on a 5.9.
I have a 98 5.2 CC with only 52k on it. When it comes time to rebuild I will go with the 5.9. I know all the performance parts I have put on will transfer so for now I'm happy with my 5.2.
Can't we all just get along!
