Subject: 2000 IAT sensor IP: Logged
Message: Does anyone have any experience making the 2000 4.7 IAT sensor fit with the HO intake manifold. I know the 2001's fit and the dealer said it would be around $50 for one of those. I would rather rig up something that works and save $50.
P.S. i dont really want to relocate it to the air intake, and if i did, i would still have to plug up the hole in the HO intake manifold.
thanks,
josh

Message: Plug the hole and relocate it. I got a li'l more pep after moving mine. Just get a plug at the local hardware store to plug the hole. You can always come back later and pout it back if you want.

Message: I dont think you are understanding me Izzy, i dont want to relocate it, and i cant put it in the HO intake manifold(where it belongs) because it doesnt fit. 2000 4.7's have a slightly different IAT sensor than 2001s and up.

Message: The item in question..the IAT adjuster is a parafactual air pressure positive displacement accumlator. Its duty is to check the enthalpy of the incoming rush of ambient air temp and density compensating it with 350000 mfd capacitance flux incursion. After an intial reading of 40 giga ohm super inductance, the IAT adjusts the potentiometer to increase or decrease the amount of reflux voltage going into the the IAT inverter. This in turn boosts rwh by about 0.5 .
Hope this helps
