Subject: 9&qtr. rear? IP: Logged
Message: I'm pretty sure my truck has a 9 and 1/4 rear,,not the 8 and 1/4,,but how can I check to be sure?
( '01 4.7 CC 3.55 open rear ) I've tried a couple of VIN decoders,,but couldn't tell. I'm going to purchase some gears and a LS diff. pretty soon.
Any help's appreciated.

Message: If your truck is a V-8 built after 2000, then it's a 9.25 axle.

Message: It should be indicated on a sticker on the inside of your glovebox door.

Message: count the amount of bolts on the differential cover.
10 bolts = 8.25
12 bolts = 9.25
