Subject: Help o2 pcm trick IP: Logged
Message: i have an 02 4.7 and i gutted the third cat and now i would like to gut the other two but i pretty sure i'll need the special o2 replacments to tell the pcm that everything is okay. Do i need to replace all 4 or just two? Does any excpect a loss of HP with this modification?
Thank you
David

Message: David,
I think the KRC tech once posted that the O2 sims really don't take advantage of the constant variability of the system feedback with regards to the a/f mixture ratio. I dunno, maybe he'll post it again.
I have a 01 4.7 QC, How, (simple directions) did you go about gutting the third cat? ( I mean what method did you use to remove and replace it?)

Message: I didn't gut my cat I replaced it with strait pipe I also don't have precats.
I have been running this set up for over a year, plus if you think about it the 2nd o2 sensors are ther just to assure the cat is working so your just avoiding the check engine light, the pcm doesn't even read them at full throttle.
