Subject: 4.7 KRC cams... anyone tried um yet?

Message:
I'm probably going to be getting these cams for my Grand Cherokee next year... curious if anyone's tried them yet? My plans are to use the HO intake and have a shop in CA (race-prep.com) do some mild porting to it to hopefully cure the high rpm power drop KRC was having with their test vehicle... That and a 70 or 72mm tb. I already have a K&N FIPK, and we're getting ready to do the exhaust next... gotta flowmaster 30 series, Leach 3" tailpipe (muffler-back), random tech high flow (560 cfm) 3" in/out cat, and we'll bump the Y pipe up to 3". I'll probably go with an ASE reflash unless someone else comes around who can do better. I actually had the thought of just using one of those ricer fuel controllers to adjust the a/f mixture. They take the map sensor readings and let you adjust +/- 50%... We use one (HKS S-AFR) on my brothers RX7... seems to work pretty slick. Real easy to use. So if you get an ASE reflash (to get the timing right, and a/f in the ballpark) you can use the a/f controller to fine tune the fuel as you do more mods...

Just my thoughts. I got sidetracked :) Let me know if any of you have done those cams yet.. I've talked off and on with Marty about them. Now I'd just like to see a little real world if you know what I mean.

Thanks
Chuck

Oh yeah, and the 14 more hp/18 more tq OVER the HO cams/HO intake combo.

He's talking about the new 206/218 street cams. Not the stock HO models.

No, but I would really like a set -- too bad finances does not permit it.

Of course KRC has tried them... And I know all about their test vehicle. They're having problems with it though. So they don't have any real accurate figures. That's why I'm asking to see if anyone else has tried them yet.

Thanks
Chuck

That dude that's their tester guy used to post here under "kicker01" if I am thinking of the same guy. You can probably find one of his old posts and then e-mail him direct.

Or if you want to wait til like February or March, you can ask ME how they work.... hahahaha
