Subject: only stalls in reverse IP: Logged
Message: I have a 94 dak with a 5.2.My problem is that since it has been getting cold out (below 30)it stalls when putting it in reverse. It runs fine in all the other gears.I also notice when I first start it up it is sucking alot of air through the air bypass passage on the throttle body. It runs fine after it has been driven awhile, and then doesit again in the morning. It has already been at the trans.shop and they say it is an engine problem.I have already replaced the pcv valve, and the ais motor, and it still dies. And also the engine doesn't idle smooth it surges about 200 rpm .If anybody can help it would be greatly appr. Thanks

Message: you sould clean your throttle body. it is probably getting carboned up. the reason you are getting more air through your idle air passage is that the space between your throttle plate and the throttle body are getting full of carbon so the com tells the IAC to open more to let more air in.
