Message: My 2000 with 150K gets about 14 in town and 16/17 on the highway. I drove from CA to TN and got 17 at 70 mph. I've never got any better than that. I don't hot rod it nor am I heavy on the thottle. They just don't get any better than what they get.

Message: I have a 2002 dekota QC 4.7. When I got it used it had 46,000 miles on it, now it has 64,000. I used to get 14-15 city and 18-20 highway. I've always ran 32 10.5 R16s on it. I put a flowmaster on it and now I get about 12-13 city and 16-18 highway. Did I do something wrong or is there anything I can do to improve that?? Would a throtal body spacer help like y friends say?? I also want to eliminate my clutch fan and run 2 electric fans, will that help my MPG and my HP?? I get so many conflicting opinions. If someone on here knows what they are talking about or can give me some advise I would really appreciate it.

Message: Heres my .02 cents worth. Poor gas mileage can come from one of a hundred things. Dirty air filter, bad spark plugs, poor quality gas, tires not inflated correctly, wheels not aligned correctly, dirty throttle body, dirty IAC, carbon buildup on valves, sludge built up in engine, and probably many more. I've been successful with Sea Foam. You can get it at Wal-Mart or any parts house. Just follow directions. I get a can and use half in the gas tank and half through a vacuum hose (brake booster line is what I use). As far as the throttle body spacer goes, it is nothing more than an expensive paper weight. Do not waste you money on this! Also if you do routine mantenance (spark plugs, air filter, etc) you should have optimum fuel economy!
