Subject: Headers IP: Logged
Message: I have a 97 Dakota which is a V8, 5.2. I just got my Exhuast put on and now it is time for headers. I was just wondering if any of you guys knew of any good sites to get GOOD STAINLESS headers. Also i was wondering how tough is it to put on headers? ...How long will it take me to install them... and will i need to tilt my engine toput them in?...any welding required?
Thanks

Message: I installed a set of Mopar Performance headers and y-pipe on my 97 5.2 CC in about 5-6 hours. No welding required in my case; they include two different collector-to-cat adapters so it is just a slip-fit and clamp. Toughest part is snaking the headers into place after removing manifolds. Be patient; they will drop in without moving the engine.

Message: i would look into getting them ceramic coated too
-Eric Injection is nice, but i'd rather be blown. 5.2L, 5speed. Powerdyne SC, 50mm TB, 2bbl M-1, 1.7RR's, MSD 6BTM, ceramic JBA headers, 3

Message: I 2nd the ceramic coating suggestion. They're more money, but they're worth it, I think. I put them on my V6, and I'm glad that I did.
