Subject: roar intake for the 4.7 IP: Logged
Message: Did anyone here ever try this intake? They have a dyno sheet showing a 12 hp and 12 lbs of torque increase, twice that of the fipk. Does anyone know about this?

Message: yes, went to the site.it might do that increase in hp,but they recommend upgrading alot of other
things.once you open up or should i say upgrade
items it will increase the over all performance of the intake.just like a supercharger will not produce its potential if the exhaust, throttle body, etc is stock.back to the intake:what is the price?did not see.looks that it would be expensive.the design is like the cold air/ram air i had on my mustang years ago.that concept has been around for a long time.good idea with the dyno pulls,i think cosmetic wise it is unattractive.but that is my opinion.

Message: Pretty fancy website, but looks like a lot of hoopla to me. Check out 360AirIntakez, Z-Tube, Volant (a bit more pricier than the 360) and of course K&N to check out some down to earth performance. I recommend the 360, more power for your buck.

Message: great...but at least at roar they show dyno numbers. Tell me, if these other intakes are so much better where are the dynos to back it up? WHy would anyone go w/ the K&N FIPK if it only dyno's an extra 5-7 hp compared to 12? I have heard good things about the 360airintakez but I'm in Cali and need carb certification.

Message: Only problem with the roar intake is the price. $300+ is alot for an intake. But go for it and tel us how you like it.

Message: IAN,
Don't let the carb certification be your determine factor. The only time you need to worry about it is when you do a smog test. When I do a smog test I put my stock intake box back on then go take the test. Then I put my 360 intakez back on after I get it done. No big deal but it really sucks felling the hp lose when the stock box is on. That's usually the time someone wants to race me. It takes less then 5 minutes to change out the stock box to the aftermarket intake and vise versa.

Message: Hold the phone here guys,
They posted 175ish HP from the 4.7? Even at the RW, it is more than that, even if it is an auto.

Message: I guess the people who can afford a $300+ intake can afford to yank there engine and perform a dyno each time they bolt on something new.
I'm in cali too, when it comes to smog time (2005, then 2007, etc.) I'll spend 20 minutes to change out the intake. Lets see 20 minutes every two years, yep, I can handle that.
