Message: I have that 2000 yellow R/T for sale, but it is a regular cab so probably not interesting to you. They made most of the yellows in 99 (hundreds), none in 98 and a very few (like 10-20) in 2000. So go to www.autotrader.com do an ADVANCED search, put in 1999-2000 dakota with v-8, automatic, 2wd, and yellow and there are 15 trucks there nationwide. Some are sports, some are R/Ts, some are regular cabs so you'll have to weed through them. Mine is a 2000 with 18,000 miles on it for $13,500 just for comparision. The least expensive CC R/T there with a price is a 99, has almost 40,000 miles, and the guy is asking $15,000.

I went to my local dodge dealer to drive a 2003 red club cab and I really loved it, but I can't afford totake a 30k dollar hit right now and it was not the combo i'm looking for. I want to buy not "lease".
And for HERSBIRD where can i find information about how many yellow club cabs were build since production??? "XPLIKT"could you give me more info, on the truck from montana?
thanks for all the help!!!!

Message: jose, the truck I was talking about is Hersbird's -- he lives but 120 miles from me (that's a short distance for us up here). Good luck on finding a yellow used one though. They are pretty hard to come by. I had my heart set on yellow, but I was only able to find one RC yellow Dakota that was a 4WD, but it was beat to sh1t and the dealer wanted perfect condition price for it. I wish they would bring that colour back..

Thank you xplikt, but don't give up on me . I'mstarting to find out that everyone that bought that color, bought it for a reason, and that is most of these people are keeping them, I ran into a guy here close to where I work and he told me that there is one guy that has one around here...
now the challenge is to go find him.I know what you mean when "dealers" want top money for a beater. hersbird mentioned a 99 CC from the auto trader for 15k but I've already spoken to that guy and he said that it was hit ,and the rear fender extension was knocked off, but he'll deal.
then again back east and all those salty roads...
leads to rust. thanks for the info.keep it coming!!!

I just hope that someone out there has their lease coming up and has to sell it.and yes the SOLAR YELLOW ones are the best lookers.funny about the rides ,because it's ironic that taxis are yellow...

Message: Here's a link to the breakdown of R/T's from 98 and 99 for color and cab. They have never released the breakdown for any other year, but I have heard estimates that they made 5 yellow RC R/Ts in 2000 and 15 CC's.
http://www.dakotart.com/faqarticles/truck_counts.htm
I've seen a couple of 99 yellow CC sport 4x4's here in town, there is one for sale at the Dodge dealer as we speak. Another belongs to a stripper at Moulon Rouge I think (who knows, its always parked there and I'd like to think stripper rather then janitor!).
There are 2 other CC yellow R/Ts on autotrader, Both are just under $18,000 though They don't say they are R/T's in the headline, but just open the pictures and it will be obvious they are R/Ts. One is in NY and the other Ohio.

The people in NY are really nice and they said they would deal, but i'm still not going to give up over here.I just don't want to deal with a rust bucket.

Anyway my production figures came for the Dakota R/T webboard where they have the 98-99 R/T numbers. Somebody once had numbers for the 2000 R/T's as well, and the Solar Yellows weren't even listed... however there were about 20 missing R/T's on the list and I guess the assumption is that they are the missing Solar Yellows, 15 CC's and 5 RC. But that is for R/T's onlt. I have seen some other 2000 sports in both CC and RC and 2wd and 4wd show up on autotrader.com in yellow. Is your truck a 2000? If it's a 99 then it's pretty common, there are 2 99 4x4 CC in SY here in my little town of Missoula. Don't feel to bad at least one of them is owned by a cute stripper!

Yes, mine is a '99 and thank you for the info. Sorry about your problems selling, but the used car maket sucks right now. I don't know if you can swing holding on to it for awhile, but it should get better if the economy picks up.

My Dakota will be in the next issue of the Montana Autofinder, and on the cover of that publication Feburary 14th. The Autotrader online is a little expensive and I'm not sure how well it works. I guess I shouldn't doubt the damn thing because that's how I found my R/T in the first place 2 years ago! So I'll say maybe, but I want to see how the local Autofinder does. I think it will sell at $12,500 pretty quicly but I wonder how much more a potential buyer will try and bleed me on this thing! I can bet you won't find a nicer on for less. Hey, how about you? maybe I could trade in your truck on my new Ram, but I doubt it would be any better as your's is still a dreaded 2wd in Montana, LOL!
