Subject: Oil Pressure???
IP: Logged

Message:
I recently installed an M-1 intake manifold on my
5.9 RT. It ran perfect for about 2 weeks, but now
the check engine light is on. Also my oil
pressure gauge drops to a low position when I am
idleing, but it is in the normal straight up
position when I am driving. Do I have an oil
leak? I cant see one anywhere. Please help as I
would like to avoid taking it to the dealer.
Thanks,
Ch

That sounds about normal. Your oil pressure should drop below the halfway point, but not between the 25% marker at idle. Under power it should come up to just above the halfway point.

If thats what it's doing, I'd say your MIL is from something else, perhaps you have a loose sensor connection somewhere, or neglected to reconnect a vacuum line? You may want to take it to Autozone, they'll plug the computer in and scan the code for free usually :0)
