Subject: Headers and the extra heat IP: Logged
Message: I have a 5.2 adn i'm thinking about getting the flowtech headers for $180 or woul dit be worth the extra $120 to get pacesetters with the ceramic/metalic coating becuase it says they reduce under hood heat.... has anybody had problems with the headers being hot and melting things or anythign like that

Message: i just found summit headers for 160 dollars adn for the 300 the pacesetter cost i might as well get the edelbrock in stainless steel......so my question is are the edelbrocks gonna be worth the extra money they costover the the summit headers...in terms of performance and sound ..cause looks dont matter much to me cuase my engine isnt anything pretty anyway

Message: get the ceramic coating it reflects and insulates against the exhaust heat, keeping underhood temp down, remember gases flow better when they remain hot.

Message: I have burned several plug wires with my JBA's/ I fixed this by getting the MSD wire sheilding kit that puts fiberglass covers over the boots. I also added slef vulcanizing tape. So far so good.
