My 99 5.9L Durango is making the weirdest sound. It makes kind of a moaning squeal, like a whale talking under water, or an 18-wheeler in traffic. It seems to do it after I’ve stopped and then accelerate. It sounds like it coming from the passenger front area. I think its something with the ABS because every now and then my ABS and p-brake light go on. Has anyone had this problem? What the hell is this?

it does it when you speed up?...the problem probably is that your timing belt is loose...tighten it up and it wont slip anymore...if that doesnt work, i dont know what it could be. later

Like a whale under water ! Exactly the noise my limited slip differential makes when making slow sharp turns, or when accelerating from a dead stop.
The sharper you turn, (in cold weather.. 50 deg in Houston)the more 'grunting' noise you hear

I haven't noticed the sound while turning and it doesn't get too cold here in so-cal. But yes, a whale under water. Does it after you stop and then acclerate. But there's more! It did it today while it was just idling. I have been told it could be the a/c or something. Clearly my problem is getting worse. What the hell is it?????

dang...i really need to get rid of my 3.9...my bad...i just insulted dodge, magnum and all that is mopar...ok i feel stupid now...CAN YOU SEE NOW WHAT THE V6 IS DOING TO ME?!?! I DONT WANT AN RT...I NEED AN RT!!!...ok im done looking stupid...ill shut up now and go study my friend's 360...later

Check the Idler pully if you have a S-belt if you have V-belts which I don't think you do,check the bearings in the Alt.
