 Subject: 5.2 liter fuel pump

Hey Guys. I borrowed my truck to my brother this weekend so he could go deer hunting. I have a 94 club cab 318 with 76000 miles on it. Truck has been bullet proof throughout the years. Anyway, on the way back into town, he stopped at a store. When he tried to resart it, it would chug, snort and die. He called a tow truck to haul it home. The driver beat on the gas tank and fired right up and has run fine since. (happened early this morning) He said it was the fuel pump freezing up? He said he has seen this before. Do I need to replace that pump now to make sure it doesn't happen again? Or, is it something that just happended and my never happen again? Thanks for any advice, appreciate it. Kevin M.

If I were you i would replace it. Mine just died around 147,000 miles, but i have heard some die as early as yours. If You dont want to get stranded again, I would change it!
