Message: I've had my "new" 00' r/t cc for 3 days 2.4 nights now and I've noticed that it's tricky to find the sweet spot for dropping gears. Sometimes I'm rolling along and I just tap it a bit and it drops what seems like 2 gears and rips but then if I punch it half the time it rips and half the time it drops a gear and accerlerates but you know what I mean, it doesn't come alive. Should I re-evaluate my situation after 6-8 days of ownership after getting more aquanted with her or is this common and I should plan on a shift kit? I've owned 2 mustang gt's and an eclips gst (I NEVER PUT A F*CKING AIRPlANE WING ON IT THOUGH) so I know how to play with the transmission.. this one just seems a lil' tempramental.
thanks all,
-m

Message: If what I was told when I was looking at my truck is true, then the Computer learns your driving habits and attempts to adjust the transmission shifting within a range to best fit those habits. However, a shift kit could hurt... It might become difficult to get warrenty transmission work done though, afterwards.

Message: m,
i bought my new 02 r/t cc back in july of this year, and i have to say i've had about the same experience with mine as you have. the other day i took her out to stretch her legs and went to turn her around. as soon as i turned around, stopped to watch for traffic, and then mashed the pedal (not quite punch) it seemed it wanted to go through the gears a little too quick. however, i got behind some slow buttclown going about 30mph in a 50mph zone. i punched it to pass him. if i didn't brace myself i would have been rubbing the back of my head and neck when i got home;)

Message: The computer only fine tune with the pressures and band timing that control the shifts on the 46RE trans. A shift kit will make it more positive and mechanical.
An easy thing to do is play with is the TV cable. It will adjust the shift rpm's and pressures (fine tune) do a search on the forums, there is allot of info about it here.
Also keep in mind that anything over 4700 RPM with a stock 5.9 is above the "power curve". You may not want to change it.
I hope this helps
