Message: Got an 02 CC Sport 4.7l 5 speed with 2400 miles. Noticed for the first time last night while cold a slight ticking sound. It definitely wasn't the injectors, almost sounded like an out of adjusted valve or something. Anyone ever run into this? Any replies would be much appreciated.

Message: I had what I thought was a ticking noise coming from the engine. I could hear it best right in front of the radiator. It actually turned out to be a chirp that the belt was making. The dealer replaced the belt and no more ticking! I know the difference between a chirp and a tick but this really sounded like a tick to me.
Anyway, it might be something to look at.

Message: I have the 5.9 R/T but I just got mine out of the shop yesterday for a ticking on the drivers side. I only heard it after the motor warmed up at idle and if you were next to a wall (like at a drive through) it was really loud. They replaced the lifters on the drivers side and the tick is gone.
