Hi fellas, was wondering which fuel filter you guys might be running for your 4.7L equipped Daks and where you might have mounted it. Maybe got a Fram part number even?

I can't believe they didn't put one on from the factory. American gasoline isn't exactly as clean as spring water! :O) Long debate with my dad has concluded that Chrysler probably loves replacing clogged injectors (which would seem to fail just after the warranty expires).

Take Care,
Dan

Take a flashlight and look in your gas tank, that's where it's at.

What i meant was an inline filter-- is what you are referring to the sock on the end of the pickup nozzle? Because thats actually NOT a filter, it's just merely a strainer to catch the bigger junk. Or is there some sort of sealed unit in there?? Seems a bummer havin to drop your tank to change a filter every 40k! Thanks fer the reply.

The filter is in the tank. With the high pressure gas lines now you can't just cut your fuel line and add a cheap inline filter. You have to get one that is made to handle the fuel pressure and use fittings.

Yeah real high pressures. Ever see what the old turbo's and V-6 pressure was, it was strictly a cost thing I am sure as the filters and hoses will handle the pressure with ease.

Also one less thing to put on the scheduled maint. list similar to the change oil every 7k and filter every other time. Now we know that no one ever drives schedule A requirements but there are cheap people who follow it.
