Subject: 1/4 Miles times for a 4x4 IP: Logged
Message: I bought a 97 5.2L 4x4 regular cab with an automatic trans. it is bone stock. What kind of 1/4 mile times could that run? My father has a 2000 1/2 ton chevy 4x4 regular cab with a 5.3L auto trans, how do they compare?

Message: After I added my 5.5 lift and 33" tires on my 97 club cab 5.2L 4X4 Dakota, 3.55 gears, JBA headers, I ran a 17.14 in the quarter. I beat a supercharged gen II Dak, but only because he forgot to swap out computers before we raced.
We just ran for the fun of it at the Southern Mopar Nat's during grudge matches a couple of years ago. It was a free run so I said "what the heck". I thought he was going to mop up the track with my truck, but when we got to about 3/4 track, I looked back and saw the front of his truck. At that point I almost put my foot through the floorboard...lol
I can say I have never lost a race on the track, I'm batting 100%...and intend on keeping it that way....I won't run it again on the track...ha ha.

Message: Yeah my '97 4x4 RC auto ran mid 17s on the G-tech. I was insulted and finaly traded it on this one. Much happier now.

Message: My truck seems to run pretty quick for a 4x4,last year I ran the time at the bottom of my signature. This year I had a KN drop in but stock otherwise and I had terrible traction problems,I ran a best of 16.52/81.97 mph.I take all the weight I can off the truck and only race once a year.I think the little p235 15 rt/s tires help my time , they are easy to turn and give me a quick gear ratio.I ran with a 2002 4.7 4x4 his truck was the same as mine but he had the tire package (p265 16) and his times were low 17s.
