Subject: PCV problems 4.7L IP: Logged
Message: When I installed my 360 airintakez intake I couldn't find the 'breather hose' that hooks to the tube. Turns out, I literally don't have one hooked up anywhere, my stock one had no hose hooked to it either, just the little part where it shoudl be hooked up, totally open.
In the service manual, I can't manage to follow where the hosing goes. I'm going today to get some 1/2" hosing to replace it.
What I need to know is, you 4.7L guys, when that hose leaves the intake tube or airbox where does it go? In the big service manual I see there's a hose that goes from the oil filler housing to the back of the valve covers, that hose is there (then it branches off to the other valve cover) so that one is fine. Where exactly does the intake hosee fit in? The 4.7L engine they picture in my service manual has the same intake as the jeep engine, not mine, I mean the hose comes out on different sides and everything, and I can't figure out where it's going. It LOOKS like they are picturing it going to the back of the valve covers as well, but where does it belong?!

Message: Hmm, so where does the hose that comes off the oil filler housing lead to?
Engine's real hot right now so I'm waiting before I go feeling around back there.

Message: Ok well, I see that the oil filler line goes to back of intake manifold, so forget my last post, but I felt around on the backside of the valve covers (backside meaning, the small-surface area facing the firewall, on the end of the valve cover) and felt no fittings back there, on either one.

Message: Man.. When I put on my homebrew, I didn't tap the vaccum line back into the intake. 4 months later I notice nothing but gain.

Message: Chris at least put a filter on it or you will be sucking unfiltered air into the crankcase.
