Can someone help me. I have always loved
the R/T and I recently had the oppurtunity to
buy a used one. I have no idea what the
specs are except that it is a 5.9L extended cab
with no obvious mods. I would like to improve
on the performance a little, but I have no idea
what I have to begin with.

About a year ago, I bought a 2000 Dakota 5.9 R/T, Regular cab, Firemist
ceramic coated PPH headers, Flowmaster 40's
Intense Performance Air Intake, Hughes Performance 52 mm billet throttle body, Hughes Performance stage 2 intake manifold.
Jet, Stage II, PCM upgrade and 180 degree thermo, IAT relocated,
MSD 6A, 8mm wires, Autolite spark plugs, 1 range colder than stock,
2400 RPM Mopar conv, Trans-go shift kit, Moroso trans cooler. I have mostly installed the NX Express Nitrous system, but I have not worked out an electrical issue, so testing has been delayed. So far, I have done 80% of the wrench turning myself, and the truck has proved to be, easy to work on. I farmed out the transmission work.
I have never dyno'd, but based on my unofficial testing, I think I'm running around high 13's.
I have beat Mustangs, an S10-327, a Boxster, and an S2000 three times in a row, hahahahaha. These were all off the line, admittedly, the S2000 and Boxster went by me, but it was at 110+. amd a quater mile had surely past. My truck won't pass about 125 mph. My buddy regularly beats me in his 99 Trans Am. Once I get the nitrous hooked up, I'm hoping to surprise him.
If you take your truck to Dodge or a Jeep dealer, they will check your VIN, and replace the upper ball joints under an unlimited mileage factory warranty. You may have read, these are under recall.
Good luck,
Dabald
