Message: I am goin to go out on a limb and say you will get at least a 2 tenths gain in the 1/4 with the Mopar PCM. Probably about 15-20hp gain. The best part of the PCM is no speed limiter, raised rev limiter, and the fact that you can set the cruie at any speed over 25mph. You want to cruise at 100mph you can. Also, the increased shift points are nice.

Message: Other than the speed limiter being removed how does the Mopar PCM compare to the Jet module. Are the shifts better with the PCM? My Jet chip does better than stock but the 2-3 shift seems like it comes a little late.
Just curious

Message: CuriousGeorge,
The PCM is an actual upgrade, the Jet Stage II is a down grade in performance. The Jet Stage II only produces power at initial wide open throttle, but quickly looses it's gains to the point of actually making the engine loose total overall power, = HP & Torq.
#1 Jet HP with and without chart
#2 Jet HP with and without chart
With the MOPAR PCM you can get real 10 - 20 more HP.

Very interesting. It would be cool if there was any data collected overlyaing all of the different chips.
I'm curious as to how the Leach and Mopar chips compare to stock.
I understand that besides a HP gain, or loss, there are other things that are improved with the addition of the Jet, Leach and Mopar chips.

Message: Dak Nut,
Us 4.7L folks have been screwed by MOPAR. They have a part number, but it's bogas. It does not exist.
On a second note there is a couple shops that will actually reprogram the PCM for us. The only draw back is they will not reprogram any PCM with a 98 mph speed limiter, only the ones that will excede 100 mph. They say there is a problem with the drive line in the ones with the 98 mph speed limiter.
One such company is Kenne Bell racing in Ranchocucomanga, CA. You send them your original PCM and they reprogram it and send it back to you.
Turn around time about 72 hrs.
cost about $350. (I think it is well worth it, I had it done to mine)
You can reach them at kennebell@kennebell.net
Another is Mike Leach, but I've heard they don't do anything newer than the 2000 4.7L.
The other is B&G Chrysler, and I talked with them myself and they will not do the 2001 - 20002's, and the charge like $600 clams.
With this info it looks like there is only one place to go Kenne Bell.
Good Luck and Happy Hunting.

Message: You might wanna see if www.asechips.com has anything available for the 4.7
They offer some nice upgrade PCMs for the Jeeps as well as a ton of other cars/trucks/SUVs, etc.
You send them your PCM, and they take out the stock chip and install one of thiers, and return it to you within 48 hours. It's not a worthless piggyback chip like JET offers.

Do you know where B&G Chrysler and Mike Leach are located? Do you have any contact info for them?
I have a 2000 4.7L and would like to get my PCM flashed.
I live in Michigan and if they are local I could maybe have it done it one day, since I don;t have a spare vehicle.
Thanks!

MOPAR PCM or a flash is about the same, except it's cheaper to buy the MOPAR than to have it flashed.

I've seen some people here say they can get it for $250+. Start a new thread in the General board and ask. This one has gotten kind of long.
KRC Performance has them for $355. shipped $330 + $25 shipping.
