Subject: Rear-End Size? IP: Logged
Message: I've heard people talking about 8.25 vs 9.25 for their rear-end size. I have a 99 SLT CC Auto with 5.2. Where do I find out what size mine is? I'm looking to order a set of replacement gears, and this seems like pretty important info. Thanks!

Message: Most Daks came with the 8.25" or 10 bolt rear-end, although some have come with the larger 9.25" or 12 bolt rear-end....I have not read about any specific reason, it must just be whats on the shelf when they assembled them.

Message: I think the consensus was that from 99 up (maybe 2000 up?) they all come with the 9.25" rear.

Message: Go look at your rear (no, the other one silly) and count the number of bolts. Makes it pretty simple in my book.
