Subject: what's the best? IP: Logged
Message: Okay, it's me again, punk kid w/ a 95 dakota. I want more, i just don't like my little V6 that i got, i need a beefy V8, it just doesn't sound good enough for me, and it's not powerful enough. Right now im re doing all the interior, but this summer im gonna swap engines. I'm a newbie at this so i odn't know much about the difference between droppin a 318 in, or a 360. Im sure the 360 would take more effort, but im also sure that there's more bang in that bad boy. Someone, please help, i need guidence and i wanna know everythign i can about this before i actually get into this big mess, i've had my problems w/ trying something before i know anything about it more than once. please help!

Message: You'll need a longblock, fuel rails, injectors, PCM, front springs (V6 springs won't cut it), driveline parts, etc. Honestly, there's a lot of power in the V6's...just need to know how to do it. ;)

Message: Bernd has a good point. The V6 can be wakened up with power adders. But, if you are going to try and redo everything, I would suggest a new truck. If I were you I would look for a 95 with a 5.2L and sell your current truck. If you go about re-doing everything and trying to buy a motor and put it in and swap, it will be a real pain. Not to mention very expensive. I am not sure of blue book on your truck but I am gonna guess that this swap and new parts will cost you at least half your truck's current value. I would look for a Used 318.
My 2 cents, Grady.
