My intake for my 4.7L came in today, and it says to connect my breather hose to the lil port on the intake, but what hose is that exactly?? There was no hose connected to the stock hat....

i could be wrong but i think there should be a rubber hose connected to the air box itself (not the hat). i think that is where the fumes from the cylinder heads are sent (via pcv valve) to be reburned........

you have a hose....it's rubber, about an inch think.

someone correct me if im wrong

I'd go crazy if I cared!

Ahh yeah forgot to come back here. I took a look at the stock setup and found nothing on the hat, so just for sh!ts and giggles I looked at all the other parts, found the little nub sticking out where a house should have been...but there was never a hose connected there, apparently ever since I bought the truck in early august.

Where does that hose lead to? If it leads to a black tube, right above the spark plugs, with a lil falve sticking out of the tube, well my lil valve there is capped with a rubber plug. Why in God's name the previous owner would have done this I don't know but apparently it's been that way since I had it, and no problems (although could this perhaps have been causing my repeated 'evap purge system' problems throwing codes?) so for now I just plugged the lil hookup on the intake, and will check into getting the hosing wednesday when I'm out of shcool.

That sounds quite a bit like a PCV valve. Hook it up and your evap codes should go away. It vents crankcase pressure, helps keep blowby deposits from collecting in your oil.
