you don't have to buy a special drain plug for that. Just buy any drain plug and drill a whole of the same size in the lowest part of the tranny pan force the plug in to create thread on the pan and you are done!. Or if you are concern about the thread sliping later on, find a nut that will fit the plug and have a welder wel it to the inside of the pan.

hey all,

speaking of transmission pans, i have a new '02 r/t CC with just under 1700m. today while looking under the truck i noticed a really light amount of "residue?" fluid on some places on the side and under the tranny pan. ran my finger along the side and came back with a really light film of tranny fluid. there is no fluid on the floor of the garage, there's not even any "droplets" on the pan bolts (but there is a little residue where the pan "lip" meets the transmission). is this normal, will it quit after the truck gets some more miles??? please help..........thanks (sorry for the long post) J

I would worry if I were you. You know, one thinks that just because the truck just came out of the factory, everything should be perfect; well whoever put that pan at the factory were regular people just like you and me prone to make mistakes. So I would take it to the dealers and have them re-do it! and while they are there, to check on the pressure inside the pan. Good Luck!

FredDQC,

thanks, man....i'll definitely take it back to the dealer (it'll be due for an oil change before long anyway). the dealership where i got the r/t from is over 100 miles away....do i need to go back to them specifically? or can i take it to a dodge dealership close by? sorry for the dumb question, this is the first brand new vehicle i've ever owned........j

You can take it to any Dodge dealer ship and they will do the work for free if its under warenty. With if you only have 1700m than you are good.
