Subject: Where to install aftermarket temp guage IP: Logged
Message: 95 5.2 4x4, I want to retain all factory guages but I also want my aftermarket guage hooked up, Am I gonna have to use one of the block drains for the sender or is there a better place??

Message: on older engines, most of them have a core plug in the intake manifold that was tapped out to 3/8 taper pipe tap. It is usually near the thermostat housing/outlet. Usually, there was water flowing through it directly from the engine block, and I would remove the pipe plug from it and install the sender into the pipe-tapped hole. Lotd of people do not realize that intake manifolds have coolant water flowing through them.
