Bernd or anyone who can help me,

I read in some of the previous posts that bogging, hesitation, and/or off-idle stumble, could be attributed to the throttle body. In fact, you mentioned that you had some problems with the Magnum Performance throttle body, which was due to the cuts in the bores for dropping the MAP signal. I too have a Magnum throttle body, and recently I've added a M-1 2bbl, 1.7 RR, 19lb Motorsport Injectors, Mopar Convertor and JBA headers. Now I have a bad stumble off idle. I've already pulled the intake found that the intake gaskets weren't seated correctly, now that it's back together, it runs a lot better, but it still stumbles from off-idle to 1,800 RPM.

One symptom that I can't put my finger on, is that from inital "cold" start, it idles beautifully for a minute to a minute and a half. Then it dies, but all I have to do is hit the key and it fires right back up and still idles great. Then once I take it out on the road, if it's still "cold" I can nail the throttle and it will just barely stumble, but if it warms up then I nail the throttle, it will almost die.

Do you think that I can safely say that it's caused by the Magnum Throttle body? The truck never did this until I did the install of the aforementioned parts. All my vaccuum lines are hooked up and everything seems to be in order.

I just want a honest opinon about this before I pull the "rest" of my hair out. I realize that you were referring to the stumble with a supercharger, but I thought it may apply to non-blown trucks as well.

The truck is a '92 5.2 with a Mopar Computer, MSD box and coil, and you all already know the rest from earlier in the post.

Do you still have the factory TB (or access to one)? Also, when is the last time you cleaned out the IAC port on the TB (as well as the actual IAC solenoid plunger)?

On the M1, some people do see a slight "stumble" off idle but this is easily fixed with the M1-2BBL "turtle" from Jeff Arnold (flameredrt@hotmail.com). Grab the "Large" M1-2BBL turtle.

Yep, I have the factory TB, and plan on cleaning it tonight. Hopefully, I'll try to set it on tomorrow. When I originally put the M-1 on, I cleaned the IAC, per your instructions (thanks), and it seems to be doing A-OK.

This may be a stupid question, but will the turtle affect my EGR? I thought about adding the turtle, but I was a little worried about the affect on the EGR system.

We've played around with the turtle on a '95 model...didn't trip the EGR code.

Cool, then I'll check with Jeff about the turtle.

Thanks for you help, and I'll definitely try the stock throttle body as well.

Okay,

Last night I went home cleaned my factory throttle body, and put it on the truck. Now, it started great, but it did the same thing...idled great for a minute and a half then surged a few times and died.

It stored a #22 code which is that the temperature sensor input voltage is either to high or to low. Now, I hate to think that this could be the root of my evils, but could it? Could an improper signal lean out or richen the fuel mixture to the point that it will die? I'm stumped.

Checked the sensors last night, and sure enough, both sensors are for the guage...someone bamboozled me when I picked up my sensors. I really didn't notice it when I put the new ones in.

So I stopped by my friendly Dodge dealer today and picked up the new/correct sensor. Amazing how a simple $13 sensor can mess up the entire truck. Oh well lesson learned, for sure!
