 Subject: 5.2 Exhaust Possibilities?

Hello everyone. I want to run a dual setup for my exhaust. ive never run dual before, so im really not sure what company would be good to go with. I was also thinking about getting a custom system setup through a local muffler shop. I drive a 92 dakota LE, 318 engine, ext cab with short box. Thanks for the help!

hey i just had my 94 done this year, you can go with a cat. back or true duals, i went with a cat back because it was cheaper and had two glasspacks to texas tips, it made it sound sweet, it is too a 318, and i was impressed with the way it sounded, i took it to midas and payed 250

I went to my local exhaust shop and had them take the muffler off and install a section of pipe where the muffler was. The result was a great sound. I have the 318 in my 95' and to date...the check engine light has not came on. This modifacation only cost me $10.00 =)

i have a 95 with a 318 and i had a muffler shop put on a catback and they put a single glasspack and then y'd it after that and put some angled tips and that cost 195 and then i payed 6 at autozone for an 18" pipe and i cut the cat off and put that on there..... and it has a really nice sound to it it rumbles when you get on it and cackles when you let off and i done that 4 months ago and have had no problems

when i had my 95 dakota, i replaced the cat with a highflow dynomax cat and 2 chamber flowmaster exhaust, 3' in and 2 1/2' duel out dumped b4 axel. made heads turn and noproblem on setting car alarms off...loud as hell. oh and the engine was also 5.2the cost... bout 100 for the cat, 40 for the muffler and i had mike the muffler put it on for about 40 for instaliation and turndowns.

My 96 ext Mark III V8 has true duels from the cat back. The sound is great and no engine light so far. I have had the truck for about a yr.

Hey, just had my muffler chopped today like Jeff. My 99 SLT 5.2 CC sounds AWESOME! Thanks for the advise. Best 20 bucks I've put in the thing so far.
Didn't lose the low end torque I thought I would, but gained quite a bit on the top end. It really lights up between 3K-4.7K now.
