Subject: 318 wont run IP: Logged
Message: i have a 94 dakota with a 318 in it and for some reason it keeps dying and the tack stays at where it was at when it died, it usually takes about a half hour to start up then,i thought it was the fuel pump so i replaced it, but it still did it, so i found your web site and replaced the tack sensor on distributor along with the distributor cap and rotor, and increased the idle speed, but it still keeps dying, please help me with suggestions

There may be a loose/faulty/broken connection at the at or nearthe coil. It may be hard to find. A friend with a '96 had a similar problem and it took quite a few months before finding the fault. HTH.

Message: The ignition coil. Not sure if he said it was the wire running to the coil from the distributor or if there a wire to the under side of the coil (maybe from the pcm).
