Message: What is it doing (or not doing)? Is it slipping? Not engaging at all? Need some more info.
The air gap should be about 0.4-0.8 mm.

Message: Hmmm...
1) Why did you replace the clutch to begin with?
2) Do you know how to use a volt/ohm meter (multimeter)?

Message: I replaced it because the bearings were going bad.Making lots of noise. I did test it with a meter and it seems to be getting power. I'm wodering if it's not shimmed properly as nothing is engaging when I turn the a/c on.

Message: I replaced my compressor on a 2001 Dakota 4.7 V8 when a/c is turned on the clutch will not engage. The old one had a bad clutch so I just bought a new complete compressor. It stopped engageing a few days before the new one was installed. Freon is correct and pressure switch was jumped and it still wont engage. Any ideas?I have 8.5volts at the connection.
