Message: I have an '01 4.7 Dakota Quad Cab and I replaced the muffler with a stainless steel BORLA muffler.
The muffler # of the BORLA I used is #40665. I bought the muffler from Summit Racing Equipment (best price I could find) and it cost me $137.99 plus $6.75 handling and shipping was free. Took about 3 days for the muffler to arrive after ordering. After the muffler arrived I took it to a local Meinke Muffler Shop and then installed. Took about 40 minutes and they charged me $50.00. The old muffler came off undamaged by the way. My warranty is in no way voided and I was assured that by the dealer. The truck now has a nice rumble when it starts and when I accelerate. I can feel a difference in power also as the truck runs stronger. The BORLA is not as loud as other aftermarket mufflers but loud enough that some heads turn. Should mention that the muffler I installed (BORLA 40665) is an easy install and all that is needed to do the install is one muffler clamp and a male/female piece of pipe about 6 inches long that the muffler shop has or you can buy at say an AutoZone store. The STOCK Dodge exhaust is not welded but when they put the exhaust clamps on the pipes get crimped/dimpled and that makes the system hard to take apart. It's a bear to get the muffler separated from the exhaust pipes that's why I just had a muffler shop do it versus fighting with the damn thing. By the way for a less expensie, louder muffler look into Dynomax mufflers Stainless steel or welded Ultra Flo mufflers but do know they are much louder. They have a universal size that fits your truck. I looked into this one but decided to loud for me. Anyway, hope this helps! Bill in NY http://www.auffarth.com/dodge.html

| Car Polish that turns to "glass" IP: Logged
Message:
Please review all the uses of this car polish
...marble, glass, plexiglass, stainless steel, gold {It will make Gold look like you have more than you bought!}, silver, paint...
...generators, vehicles, countertops, bathroom surfaces {and, I don't see how, including adjacent to urinals}, floors...
Respectfully submitted,

ps I have sent out this generic information to some....
Are you in a position to offer @ this product? I have corporate letters from owners stating this product has been used on their jets. "It is amazing to have such an effective product that is so easy to use. The six-year-old paint on the aircraft looked brand new...literally straight off the factory line." All kinds of industries use this product. ...a home fiberglass bathtub!!!
This product will not dissolve in water like other "car waxes"...actually has UV protection.
As hard As Chinese Arithmetic!
A "car" polish that does a chemical process on the surface and turns to glass. The look is "wet" or brilliant, cures and forms an integrated, super hard protective coating, new, just available, been used in the aircraft industry to make alot of sales fast!!!! Think about it, an air plane is a good place to sell it by the gallons!!! The glass multiplies the look of the surface.
A chemical process happens and bonds to the painted surface, becomes a part of the "paint." Has normal 5 year warranty or a Professional 5 year warranty that could be sold.
{Car warranty dealers sell this for extra dollars with verification.}
12 oz suggested resale $29.99, and there are other products the company manufactures. Gallons & drums for professional use. Private Logos, endorsements, ect, can be added.
This will keep headlights, light bars or other "plexiglass" surfaces from becoming dull.
{A light bar needs product on both sides, inside & outside, as example.}
It is impervious to harsh detergents. It will not break down or wear off under constant cleaning with chemicals...as surface as marble is subject to wear!
The wax industry is designed to re-wax regularly!!
Reply, perhaps we can exchange information.
Thank you.

Message: I have an '02 regular cab 4.7 5-speed. I had the stock muffler replaced with a 2.5" I.D. Thrush straight through glass pack. I love it. Unlike many straight through types, Thrush has the sound control openings in the tube as "slots" rather than "punched" so there are no metal bumps hanging in the airstream. $22.95 at a parts store and installed at a "no name" muffler shop for $30. The sound is just right for me, and this muffler has practically zero resistance to flow.

Message: First of all there is no single chamber 40 series flowmaster. FLO-430402 is the part number of the flowmaster that is the loudest. It is 3 inch in and 2.5 out. Also that is single in and dual out. The 2.5 out restricts the exhaust coming out to make it louder. You wont notice anything lost low end power i notice a big increase in proformance. I have a number to a great guy at a speed shop if you want his name and muber let me know. He can give you advice on what you want.
I thought about how mothers feed their babies with tiny little spoons and forks, so I wondered what do Chinese mothers use? Toothpicks?

Message: I was thinking of going with a Ravin on my 4.7 Quad Cab. The main thing I'm concerned with is the loss of low end. I have heard some 4.7 horror stories of losing low end with new exhaust. What do you guys think? Also, I'm mainly doing this as a precursor to the Jeep HO cams cause I figure I should free up the exhaust (already have an Intense Performance intake).

Message: You won't lose any low end power if you keep the stock pipe diameter. 2.5". I've heard that this is the best way to gain power from your exhaust. Especially if you don't ever plan on adding a blower or turbo.
Right now I have a carsound 2.5" cat and am planning on switching in either an edelbrock, magnaflow, or borla muffler. I know how magnaflow and borla sound. But what about
edelbrock? Also...does anyone know which of the three I listed produce the least amount of interior resonance? I'm leaning towards the magnaflow #14256 but we'll see.
