Subject: RE: New Tires IP: Logged
Message: I have the 285/60R16 GTIIs on the rear of my 4.7+5 speed, I can still get a good amount of spin and a little 2nd gear scratch around my house, they hook up pretty good. Around my work it's still an all out slide fest when it rains. (3rd gear spinning from 15 to over 50MPH? Hitting 4th at 20 to get traction?) But that's because the roads blow chunks. Next round out I'm actually looking to go 295/65R16s on the rear and 285/60R16s on the front to give it a slight rake and fill the wheel wells a bit more with that big tire look that I like.
I still wish that BF Goodrich hadn't discontinuted the Sport Truck T/A tire, they had 315/55R16's that would go on a 16x8 rim as well as 285/60R16s.
I've actually considered swapping rims so I can get better tires, you can get alot more in 15 and 17" for performance. 16" seems to be popular for offroad tires and passenger car sizes (225/60R16 area)

Message: I just bought 2 15x8's from Sam of socaldakota. I'm throwing slicks on them (when I get them) ASAP and going to tear around in them :) should be interesting.
